Siratul Mustakim

Situation

Door-to-door outreach forgets. Who was visited, who actually answered, who is overdue — it lives in volunteers' heads, and someone walking a street cannot stop to update a spreadsheet.

Task

• Make the record keep itself, hands-free, while a volunteer walks.
• Send people to the door that most needs them, not the one that happens to be nearest.

Result

A volunteer is told where to go, shown the route, and records what happened by speaking. Piloted with Masjidul Ibrahim — the team's memory survives the walk instead of ending with it.

My Contribution

• Found the distinction the whole model turns on: a knock is not contact. Only an answered door resets the clock, so the map reflects conversations rather than attempts.
• Ruled the agent may never invent navigation. A confidently wrong street name sends a volunteer to a stranger's door — worse than saying nothing at all.
• Built it as an agent rather than a form: the volunteer talks, and the tools behind the conversation pick the house, draw the route and file the outcome.
• Cut the server entirely once it was clear the browser could hold the conversation. A community organisation shouldn't carry hosting costs between walks.
